Jan Tchamani
I'm in my mid-50s and my life has been full of adventure. I've been, at various stages, a student, teacher, employee of McDonald's, development worker, counsellor, secretary in industry, receptionist at a cathedral office, sandwich-seller, tutor, writer and homemaker. Writing and changing lives for the better are my twin passions: community project co-ordinating & writing articles and generating community growth. In 2011 I was a finalist for the Asham Literary Award for short story writing and was published in a Little Brown/Virago anthology called 'Something Was There' - a collection of ghost/gothic stories by previously unpublished women. Four amazing children: the eldest 30, youngest 23. An advocate on behalf of bipolar people, vulnerable and older people. and leader of The Red Tent, which meets monthly to do things that empower and strengthen (and make one another smile). A creative and productive 'crone'!!!
