I was raised in China. It was a long journey to become a nonprofit leader with a focus on supporting grassroots leaders. I switched from the academic (engineering and economics) into the nonprofit. Prior to my post at The Zigen Fund, I learned tremendously on nonprofit operations and finance at start-up nonprofits for five years.
Trained as an engineer, I think it more challenging yet rewarding to be a social engineer. My mathematic talent helps me envision the nonlinear outcome of the incremental grassroots efforts and stay confident and optimistic.
I was fortunate to learn a lot about the American grassroots community efforts and how it transform the society over centuries relatively peacefully. I like to share what I learned from my experience and hope I can do my share to create opportunities for the young in China.
