About Me:

I was born in Czechoslovakia and in 1982 my family left the country and moved to Switzerland. Then in 1989 we moved to the United States, and since then I have lived in Portland, Oregon. Recently I have moved downtown, and I just love the fact that I no longer need a car and I have access to all the great restaurants, arts, parks and fun places the city has to offer.

Currently I work for the City of Portland, Oregon as a government performance auditor. Basically I review and evaluate various city government programs and functions, to determine whether they are efficient and effective at achieving their objectives. My last two projects were reviewing the City's 911 Center and the Solid Waste Program, specifically the curbside composting program. I also volunteer for the Association of Local Government Auditors, where I chair the Online Resources Committee. Here is my complete professional profile on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/alexfercak/

In my free time I am learning photography and learning to share what I create. It is a great escape for me and it gives me the freedom to be creative and to express myself.

My Passions:
Photography, Civic engagement, Women's rights, Government accountability
My Areas of Expertise:
Performance auditing, Program evaluation, Writing, Social media
My Languages:
English, Czech, German
