WritersDojo.org publishes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art, along with a growing collection of blogs, podcasts, interviews, and other media. Daniel Bergner posted an excerpt of his just-published nonfiction book on our site and held his only Portland reading at our physical space. Diana Abu-Jaber published a selection from her in-progress young adult novel and participated in a podcast interview. And an amazing group of poets, from Kim Stafford to Willa Schneberg to Carlos Reyes, have shared both new and revived poems in our online journal. These are just a few of our contributors--we are thrilled and honored to play a role in the publishing lives of many others, those both emerging and already well-published, those we call our neighbors because they live around the corner and those we call our neighbors because we are connected in online communities.
Our bricks-and-mortar space in Portland, Oregon, United States, is a shared, creative office and center of excellence for serious writers. We offer daily and monthly memberships. Members have diverse backgrounds, styles, and deadlines. But we share resources and common goals to be madly prolific, healthy, and active members of a creative, professional community. We also host writers' groups, literary workshops, events, readings...pretty much whatever the community needs that we think is cool and that helps advance the conversation of literary arts and professionalism.
