Carmen

About Me:

I am 53 years old and a first time college student! I am blessed to be the mother of a unique little boy who has grown into an amazing young man. I am in the Social Work program and an activist focusing on women's issues and the environment. I enjoy the privilege of volunteering my efforts in working with Neema Namadamu and her group of grassroots women leaders, Maman Shujjaa - Swahili for "Hero Women." In fact, I am presently planning a trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo this summer to work side by side with these incredible women!. I am blessed.

My Passions:
Activism, music, dark chocolate and coffee!
My Challenges:
I am challenged by my feelings of anger and despair when I get too entrenched in the systems that are at play.
My Vision for the Future:
A global movement of Women!
My Areas of Expertise:
Social media, making connections, listening from heart
