Shoma A. Chatterjee

About Me:

I am a freelance journalist based in Kolkata, India. I specialise in gender issues, media and human rights. I have authored 17 books published by different publishers in India. I graduated from teaching Economics in a Mumbai college to freelancing as a journalist. I currently contribute regularly to around ten print media and website media on cinema, gender and human rights. I did my Ph.D. in History (Indian Cinema) and am currently doing a post-doctoral fellowship on the Celluloid Representation of Working Women in Post-Colonial Bengali cinema awarded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, Delhi. I am 66 years old but I defy age with my industry, dedication and integrity. Age, in my opinion, depends on usage and not on numbers.

My Passions:
Cinema, reading, friendship, travelling, networking
My Challenges:
age, competition, sickness
My Vision for the Future:
a world where people can co-exist in universal brogherhood
My Areas of Expertise:
