About Me:

I come from the Luo community specifically from Alego Kogello in Kenya where culture is sacred and must be adhered to.The cultural practices are mostly demeaning to women and it is believed failure to follow the traditional cultures either renders the woman barren,causes mental illness or worse comes to worse death! Having realized that these traditions are meant to subdue the women and keep them under the authority of men forever.It is sad to note that the girl child just from an early stage is taught to believe that she can never do better than a man.I want to change this and that is why i want to work with young girls from 18years of age up to 35.I want to tap and shift the paradigm by empowering them to be economically independent.

My Passions:
Empowering young girls and opening my community to the world
My Challenges:
I have so much i want to do,but i lack the funds
My Vision for the Future:
a development oriented community to improve the living standards of women in my community
My Areas of Expertise:
public relations,communication,advocacy for LGBTI rights
My Languages:
English, KISWAHILI,LUO
