In my country the DRC many girls do not have the opportunity of going to school, due to the poverty of their parents caused by multiple wars. Most people prefer to educate the boys given that the financial means remain insufficient. The girls take care of the babies while their mothers go to the farm and to the market. This situation has negative impacts on women in general. In future many won’t know how to be self reliant and how to take care of their children; the reason we should propagate girl education.

Our present preoccupation now is to sensitize families not to discriminate against the girls.

This story was written for World Pulse’s Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign.

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring an end to gender-based violence. The EVAW Campaign elicits powerful content from women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as vocal grassroots leaders, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

scolarisation des filles

Bonjour Mme Bisonga
