I am a student passionate about change and the power of women, youth, and education to incite it. I live in a small community in Canada and must live with the disgusting apathy of my society, specifically of my demographic, magnified in a fish bowl setting. Due to the lack of opportunities in my community I have had to create many of my own. In addition I have founded an anti-poverty club within my school, raising over $3000 in the first year in a school of less than 300, and have taken on many leadership roles in my community.I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Minerva Foundation's Learning to Lead BC conference in May 2011. I live my life based on a passion to make a difference and strongly believe in the power of education. The mysterious is frightening, but if education renders the mysterious mysterious no more, fear will become a thing of the past and I believe a lot of conflict can be avoided.
