Erin Hannah Tenney
I am a 31 year old woman and mother of a 9 year old son. We live on the shores of Lake Superior, the biggest fresh water lake in the world. I work in a Tribal Health Clinic as a Maternal & Child Health Nurse. I love my work. I am also a Doula, Childbirth Educator, Lactation Consultant and a Graduate Student of Midwifery & Women's Health. I am founder of a grassroots volunteer Doula Program "Bami-Ondaadiziike" ("to support", "to give birth"- in Ojibwe language) which is in it's 4th year. My goals are to support and empower women and families before, during and after the childbearing year. I want to encourage women to take back their power and use their voices. We are so strong. We are meant to love ourselves, and love others, to birth well, to raise healthy families and to be healthy ourselves, to make wise decisions, to laugh and to fight for what is right.
