Saren K

About Me:

I'm Saren, from Cambodia. I graduated from Asian University for Women, Bangladesh, major in Asian Studies.
I was born and raised in a completely patriarchal society where girls/women are discriminated in so many different ways.

My community is one where girls are not encouraged to go to school; women are supposed to accept some beating as it is considered to be "normal"; and that girls won't go far beyond being in the kitchen. I'm proving them wrong.

My ultimate vision is to see both men and women, all of us as member of a humanity group, live peacefully in harmony together, with love, kindness and compassion toward one another.

My Passions:
Reading & writing, Empowering women
My Challenges:
How to stay focus on one single issue, how to get men believe they are oppressed by patriarchy too
My Vision for the Future:
The world with peace and harmony, full of love, kindness and compassion
My Areas of Expertise:
Migration and Gender studies
My Languages:
English, Khmer
