African Female Journalists Action on Climate Change
AFJACC is a professional Association created in 2011. Members are female journalists from the print and audiovisual media in Africa who report on climate change. It is a project under the Pan African Education on Climate Change. It highlights the actions of female parliamentarians, female mayors and other leaders in the struggle to mitigate climate change.
AFJACC’s work is therefore aimed at helping to increase women’s action on climate change as well as in policy influencing. AFJACC also seeks to make the voices of all classes of women heard since they are likely to bear the brunt of the negative impacts of climate change like low agricultural yields, water scarcity, disease and increased poverty.
