Blanca Y. Peña Ponce

About Me:

Blanca Pena, Monterrey, Mexico

Blanca has five years of experience in the nonprofit sector, promoting Corporate Social Responsibility in Latin America. She has held various positions in this field, including International Project Coordinator, Consultant, professor and researcher. Blanca previously worked as Manager of the CSR program at ITESM, training executives from around the world. She recently earned a Master Degree in Corporate Responsibility in Barcelona, and collaborated with a multicultural team of colleagues to create the CSR strategy for an environmental organization in Spain. Blanca has also worked on educational projects to promote capacity building for the disabled in order to provide social integration, and became a POETA Program Coordinator in 2007. This program was created by the Trust for the Americas (a non-profit affiliate of the Organization of American States) and uses ICT's training and adaptive technologies, to provide vulnerable communities, including people with disabilities with the skills to earn a living and become more independent.

As an active member in disability and social integration associations, Blanca learned Sign Language and became an interpreter for the hearing impaired. She was a regular lecturer for companies to understand the challenge to open doors of opportunity for the disable. During her career, Blanca has been chosen by several international organizations, including the Inter-American Development Bank and the UN Global Compact, to participate in conferences related to Corporate Social Responsibility.
