About Me:

I am a child of Skies or Blues, the place where the weather is always sunny and breezy. Of the place they call Kontuthuziyatunqa, the City of Kings - all conquering and legendary. Of the place officially known as Bulawayo. Here, 28 years ago, a son of the great Shona people and a daughter of the equally great Ndebele people, (a.k.a my parents), were blessed with yours truly. I am proud to be part of two great tribes of the land North of the Limpopo and South of the Zambezi, a mixture through a through.

I am a Journalist by training, having attained a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Journalism and Media Studies from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). But that is not all, I am a writer of sorts, a voracious reader, a mother, a development worker, a communicator, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a bit of a hippie and inquisitive to no end. I love people, different people, nature and all things woman. I am in constant pursuit of new and exciting experiences, which is why I enjoy travelling and cooking - food is one of the best ways to get familiar with other cultures.

Currently, I work for Oxfam GB as Media and Communications Coordinator while also studying for a Masters in Development Studies at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein South Africa. This far the NGO world has been my sector of choice. I feel I'm not just doing a job, but am part of the great effort by humanity to better itself. I know most of you are striving for the same and as such am sure I'll make some great and lasting friendships here.

My Passions:
Writing, reading, travelling, photography, music, languages, cooking and the arts
My Challenges:
Never having enough time to do it all
My Vision for the Future:
Less or no gaps between men and women, the rich and the poor, black and white
My Areas of Expertise:
Media, Communications, Community Development
