Funke Arogundade

About Me:

My name is Funke Arogundade, I have a BSc. degree in Crop Protection and MSc. in Environmental Biology from the Univercity of Ibadan, Nigeria. I am presently working at a world Bank project as the Project Officer-Gender and Vulnerability.(Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency). I have met the women, the disadvantaged children and the highly vulnerable in our rural communities. My heart aches for these category of people. My heart desire is to put smiles on the faces of these people but there is very little I can do under this project. My country believes in the man as the breadwinner of the family, I see the women as the actual breadwinner in our communities. the women do the work, while the men take the credit. We have a lot to do especially in making the women speak out.

My Passions:
Empowering the female gender, youths and vulnerable
My Challenges:
Culture and Tradition of our people.
My Vision for the Future:
Gender Equality
My Areas of Expertise:
Capacity building
My Languages:
English, Yoruba
