Vera Nicimpaye

About Me:

I was born and grew up in Burundi (located in the central-east part of Africa). I now live in USA with my family.
I think that the world would be of breathtaking beauty if we all lived in harmony. I am working on living in harmony with myself first as I believe that my outer world is a reflection of my inner world.
My ultimate desire is that the life conditions - especially for women - in Burundi will improve; that honest conversation between both ethnic groups will happen. That hatred between Hutus and Tutsis will consequently recede.
I am committed to playing any role I can to initiate real conversation that would include women as they are the ones to suffer the most from war atrocities.
In case you want to learn more about my thoughts about the Hutu/Tutsi saga, please visit my personal blog: nicimpaye.blogspot.com.

My Passions:
Reading, Writing, Singing and Jogging.
My Challenges:
To Publish my manuscript about my life story in a country torn by ethnic hatred and cyclic civil wars.
My Vision for the Future:
A better world in which everybody lives in harmony. A better world in which everyone gets that we are the extension of one another.
My Areas of Expertise:
Early Childhood Education (Education of children from birth to 8 years of age), Writing
