About Me:

Hi All,

My name is Florah Mwashi. I come from Kenya.

My passion is working with and for women. Building their skill, competencies and ensuring they get relevant information which will make a difference in their lives, is my principla focus. Women make great differences once they have been enabled and will more often than not go extra miles to ensure that the course for which they stand for is achieved.

I have been working with women groups, and provided them platforms to be able to engage leaders, participate in democratic processes at all levels. Currently I am collaborating with other colleagues to ensure that women fully understand the content of the new constitution. This is critical because women have great opportunities provided by the new constitution and it is important that as government structures are being devolved, they must be able to identify their points of entry so that they become part of the process.

As a member of Women's Focus, we are working on a plan that seeks to carry out research on rural womento fully understand what types if diseases/illnesses they suffer from and also establish whether these women seek medical attention in the Hospitals. Lately I have realised that many women are collapsing and dying from blood pressure, diabetes and heart conditions which are diagnosed when in their advanced stages. We want to ensure that we take women's well-being initaitives to the women at their home levelsi since health facililities are far from their reach or if within, they do not adequately provide required management for their condition.

I believe that PulseWire familiy will help us achieve our desired goals and also provide a platform for me to learn from.

Thank you

Florah
