About Me:

I am writer living in Cape Town. I have been a teacher, community worker, activist, in South Africa and the UK. I have worked in primary, secondary schools, colleges and universities. I have post-graduate qualifications in education. I am interested in gender politics, the invisibility of women and their issues, including lesbian rights, older women, single women, menopausal women, women who restart their lives after war, trauma, divorce.
I write freelance as well as doing a number of low paid jobs so that I can write often. I volunteer at a local library running women's writing groups as well as at a primary school helping to teach children read. I am passionate about stories and helping people to recognise and value their stories as rich wealth inside of them.

My Passions:
Writing, Stories, theatre, justice, opportunities for women and girls
My Challenges:
gathering voices loud enough, writing stories strong enough
My Vision for the Future:
publication opportunities for women and girls who may never otherwise see their lives and stories in print
My Areas of Expertise:
Writing, Teaching, Editing
My Languages:
English, Afrikaans
