I am many things. A teacher, a development worker, a student, a partner, a sister, a survivor. But I write as a woman, in all of the simplicity and fullness of that word. I write this as a woman who seeks a kind of freedom for my gender that is complete, satisfying, and full of grace. A kind of freedom that does not see me as ‘disempowered’ or ‘empowered’, but as the whole woman that I am, the whole woman that I have been, and the whole woman I seek to become. I have come to understand that true freedom is not something we learn how to patiently develop; it is something we learn how to fearlessly release.
