PaxFeminina
I am multiracial, a "leftie" and a big reader. I am also a mother, a student, a theatrical stagehand, a union executive, a feminist, and an activist living in Ottawa, Canada. You can also find me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/PaxFeminina
I am constantly learning and love to meet people.
It is empowering to talk to women and understand their perspective on their corner of the globe; women share so many commonalities, regardless of residence or income status. As the arts play such an important role worldwide, I am interested in finding out more about what can be done using the arts and social media to aid development, create equality, reduce/eradicate gender violence, and promote peace. I was 11 when I saw Band Aid live on television, and that was a catalyst to me to both learn about development issues and research ways to solve problems.
I am also very interested in labour relations, fair trade, ethical trade and living wages. I will be returning to school in September as a Mature Student, attending St. Paul's University in Ottawa, Canada for Conflict Studies.
