Wambui Kairi
Middle aged and bolts and nuts starting to creek. Been privileged to have had caring and nurturing parents who gave me good education and a fighting spirit to boot. Interestingly, my father was very instrumental in instilling the pride in who I am and the spirit for justice and rights irrespective of gender. In his own words "in my house there are no boys and girls". My experience working with government and various NGOs in the East Africa region from the slums of Nairobi to the pastoralist arid lands in the North as well as my personal journey in the larger family and community has painfully brought home the reality outside my fathers house. Life is a bed of thorns especially for women and the poor in general. I am in development management consultancy but feel unfulfilled. I have a strong urge for a more transforming encounter through the passions of my life..enabling others while nurturing my strength to move on.
