About Me:

After working for seven years as a journalist and magazine editor in Beijing, China, I returned to my home state of Oregon two years ago to pursue a master's degree in conflict resolution. I am in the second year of my program, and am increasingly focusing my studies on how women and girls can contribute innovative, vital ideas to peacebuilding. In April 2010, I joined the World Pulse VOF team as a volunteer and to gain practicum credits towards my degree. I am thrilled to be working with the VOF team and look forward to supporting the next round of correspondents.

My Passions:
writing, reading, traveling, my 3-year-old nephew
My Challenges:
not enough time in the day
My Vision for the Future:
women and girls recognized as indispensable and innovative actors in peacebuilding efforts across the globe
My Areas of Expertise:
journalism, conflict resolution (mediation, negotiation and peacebuilding), expatriate culture in China
