I was born and raised in Pakistan, and came to the US to attend college at MIT, where I studied Computer Science and Economics. I first discovered my love for international development while on a fellowship in post-tsunami Sri Lanka. Since then I have worked in Ethiopia and Pakistan, and am currently the Founder and Director of BLISS - an initiative that began in 2009 as a way to enable adolescent girls in Pakistan to escape exploitative labor at carpet looms, and attend school.
