About Me:

I am recently retired from a long career as executive assistant to a succession of presidents and directors of non-profit associations and relocated to downtown Brooklyn, a lively diverse community where I am finally able to fashion a life that until now was largely an inner voice. I am a reader. I am a writer. I am a strong believer in what is fair and equitable. I am a feminist of the 1970s, the second wave as it has been called. I am thankful to live in interesting times and to have seen the inauguration of Barak Obama. I am originally a Chicagoan, a midwesterner, but I was lured away by a "sweet piano man" forty years ago and so I am a New Yorker, a passionate lover of music and of those who devote their lives to it.

My Passions:
books, books, books!
My Challenges:
writing, age, social inequalities, time, caretaking
My Vision for the Future:
"I believe (wo)man will not merely endure, (s)he will prevail. (S)he is immortal, not because (s)he alone among creatures, has an inexhaustible voice, but because (s)he has a soul, a spirit, capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance." Wm Faulkner
My Areas of Expertise:
Master's degree in Liberal Studies, concentration in Feminist Literature, Graduate Ctr, City University of New York
