About Me:

I teach creative movement and visual art in the Vancouver School District. I guide students in grades Kindergarten through 5th. I am a dancer who is interested in integrating dance and movement into curriculum.

Hello friends,

Here is a bit more about my background and interests.

Born in Portland, Oregon -- traveled the world and lived in many sections of the US.

Under grad in Business from University of Oregon.

Post Grad work at Oregon State University in Health Education, and a Master in Teaching degree with an Elementary Education Certification from Washington State University in Vancouver, WA.. Continuing education in art and movement.

DANCE! Started ballet at 6 and then added tap, Spanish, folk, jazz, modern, creative movement, and funk. I am interested in pedestrian movement and helping children love their own form of movement and their body.

I believe education and movement should be blended at the elementary level. Let's get those kids learning kinesthetically too! I've seen barriers lifted for kids with special needs or who are ESL learners or just have their unique style of understanding that is not in the instruction format we use in the US Public Schools.

I love cooking for friends, planning parties and special events, world music, reading, summer, and nature.

That's it in a nutshell.

My Passions:
My Challenges:
Fitting into an established system
My Vision for the Future:
A quality education for every child
My Areas of Expertise:
Synergy and energy
