There is a compelling reason for every path taken by every person in the journey of life. I found myself in Portland, Oregon at the age of 16 after my single mother had sacrificed so that I could pursue my education. I believe I have a purpose in making a meaningful change, particularly in the lives of other young women from diverse backgrounds. Self-expression is as vital to living as breathing. It is how we interact with others and the world. It can be supremely fulfilling or irritably frustrating. I strive to make an impact through the various forms of communication, cultural exchange, community engagement and development. I'm a senior at Portland State University pursuing a degree in Communication Studies and Advertising Management. I have always been passionate about the non-profit sector as much as poverty alleviation is concerned. If you educate a woman she directly influences and contributes to the welfare of her family and the community at large. This has the power to alleviate poverty. This is my ultimate career objective.
