About Me:

I am contributing as a co-editor of "Krishi Patrika"- an agricultural newspaper published fortnightly in Nepali language from Nepal. As you are well aware that Nepal is an agriculture based country. Out of the total population (29 million), over 80 percent are farmers and more than 90 percent women support in farming and agricultural activities. The status of farmers as well as women is miserable. Also, we don't have any newspaper publishing news about agricultural activities and farmers voices. So, we formed a small group and are publishing agricultural newspapers targeting to rural farmers, since last 16 December 2007.

I hold Massters' degree from Nepal. I am tryining to create awareness among rural farmers especially women and raise problems faced by the farmers as well as publish lessons learned by the farmers for its replications. This "Krishi Patrika" is only one of its kind in Nepal focused to rural farmers. With poor resources, we are trying to give voices to the voiceless poor farmers and women. We are not a political organisation and also not for profit making organisation, we are just trying to empower rural farmers through media.
