Hiba Safi

About Me: 

Hiba Safi is a community leader engaged in the nonprofit sector, member of the Global Shapers Community-an initiative of the World Economic Forum, and currently serves as the Program and Events Manager in the Arab Institute of Business Leaders (IACE) --an independent business association and Think Tank that represents the private sector in Tunisia. Based in Tunis since 1984.In this capacity, she oversees the management of IACE’s broad range of initiatives and partnerships in the three core program areas of Entrepreneurship, leadership and civic engagement across Tunisia.
All of these activities are geared towards promoting the growth and viability of Tunisia’s private sector, and giving it a voice in the country’s evolving political landscape.
Hiba has worked with national and international organizations and government bodies and has the experience of successfully organizing regional conferences that focus on transitional issues of Tunisia. Thanks to her in-depth communications and leadership skills, Hiba currently works with international partners notably; MEPI, the Kauffman Foundation,CEED, European Union, CIPE,IFC, Adam Smith International and G8 for Arab Countries in Transition. She has also contributed to the organization of the largest economic forum in Tunisia-The enterprise days- gathering international policy makers, business Leaders and experts from all over the world.
In addition, Hiba has been leading the organization of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and Creative Business Cup in Tunisia on behalf of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
She has been working as a consultant for CIPE & Stanford University on reforming the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt and Tunisia after the Arab Spring.
During her previous experience in different NGOs, such as the British Council, she worked in a close cooperation with the different processes especially within MENA programs.
She is fluently trilingual in Arabic, English and French and has a good knowledge of Spanish and Turkish.
