About Me: 

I am British-Sudanese Human Rights Campaigner and Activist: since January 2011-present.
Contributed towards the release of over 4000 political detainees in the Sudan, stopped the summarily execution of 27 prisoners of war, led a campaign which changed the government's policy of installing pre-charged water meters in residential homes and changed the government's policy on arbitrary arrests of political activists.
Working in collaboration with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the African Union, the European Commission, human rights organizations- Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Waging Peace Arry Organization for Human Rights and a wide range of media agencies and newspapers which included the BBC office Khartoum and BBC Arabic London, Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP), Radio France International, Arabic News Network,Sky News Arabia, Alsharq Alwasat, Hurryait Sudan and Sudan Tribune and other media agencies to advance issues of human rights and justice in the Sudan.

My achievements so far:

-Contributed towards the creation of a nation-wide advocacy and activism movement by leading by example and by writing and distributing effective easy to follow advocacy templates which started a culture of advocacy for human rights in the Sudan and among Sudanese diaspora and youth organizations outside Sudan.
-Since 2011 -contributed towards creating a movement of activists using social media, international and national Sudanese media to highlight and campaign for human rights violations in the Sudan.
The most major campaigns included:
-Contributed towards a multi-agency campaign calling for the change of the National Security Law 2012 led by HRW and Amnesty International and others addressing the UN Human Rights Council 24th session.
-Anti-corruption campaigns, the latest case of Captain Abu- Zaid, a police man jailed for exposing corruption in the police force.
-Worked on raising awareness the recent tribal conflicts in East Darfur State, North Darfur State and al-Fulla in South Korodofan State; during February 2013, August 2013.
-Worked on raising awareness of some of the major conflicts in the Sudan, contributed towards the intervention of African Union peacekeeping forces in the contested region of Abyei, which helped in reducing the rate of conflict between Dinka (Ngok) and Messiryah and Sudanese Armed Forces. The most recent campaign was March 2013.
-Campaigned to protect the use of peaceful methods of resistance in the Sudan by promoting of the Mansir 107 day sit-in Naher Elneel State which happened between Nov. 2011- March 2012, the 2 week sit –in in al-Gurrer, June 2012 and the 30 day sit-in in Babnusa on December 2012.
-Campaigned to stop the summarily execution of over 19 SPLM-N members in Nov. 2011, and then again to stop the summarily execution of 8 JEM members in March 2012.
-Campaigned successfully to save the lives of hundreds of thousands of Sudanese caught in between the Libyan-Libyan fire during the Libyan Revolution in March 2011.
-Led campaigns that stopped the unjust court trials of 9 Sudanese journalists in February 2011.
-Co- managed and ran an on-line news website ( RASAD Sudan Network) which had over 79,000 hits a day between November 2011 and November 2012 and helped to promote issues of police brutality, human rights, justice and governance.
