About Me:

I am a proud Anishinaabekwe of mixed heritage who strongly identifies with her Native roots. I am an author, writer, poet and healer. I have a BA in Sociology and an MA in Environmental Leadership.

I am a strong advocate for healing within the Native/Indigenous/First Nations community on Turtle Island - what most of you know as the United States and Canada. My activism has spanned these countries whether cyber activism or empowering Native communities during the presidential election in 2008. I have also worked in the Native community. I am also a strong advocate for language revitalization. I am committed to walking the Red Road to Wellbriety within myself and my family since alcoholism once plagued our lives. I am committed to healing and wholeness within myself. I believe in integrating parts of my soul that had been lost in generational or historical trauma whether this came from my Native or European ancestry. I am committed to healing ones self as well as healing in our families and communities.

Hobbies include: running, hiking in the woods, organic gardening, swimming, kayaking, playing the banjo, hanging out with my {goddess} cat, poetry, cafes and drinking tea with loved ones.

My Passions:
Aboriginal/First Nations/Indigenous/Native issues and rights, feminism, environmentalism, The Earth, Great Lakes, Michigan, Organic farming/gardening, writing, poetry, healing arts, and simple living.
My Challenges:
Bringing my vision to reality and implementing it in this world.
My Vision for the Future:
That we all create a more harmonious and balanced way of living on Earth together. We need to allow more of a voice for women and Indigenous peoples worldwide. We need to honor the Earth and her sacred knowledge and wisdom that she holds.
