Judith B. Alpuerto
I am a professional woman advocating for a violence-free person, family, community and world. I am married. I have a husband and four kids.
I began to advocate for a violence free-individual, family and community when I became aware of the gender issues that caused affect women.
I became a member of Family Watch Network or Bantay Banay organized by Lihok Pilipina and the National Family Violence Prevention Program.initiated by the Women's Crisis Center Manila and lately became a provincial convenor of the Philippines Against Child Trafficking here in Negros Oriental.
I participated in the passage of three ordinances to promote women's welfare, rights and entitlements, namely: Creation of the Negros Oriental Provincial Commission on Women, The Gender Code and the Children's Code.
I conduct gender sensitivity training in the grassroots to raise the level of consciousness of women in the countryside on their rights and entitlements.
