About Me:

I have worked as a licensed clinical social worker, though am currently teaching a lovely kind of hand weaving from Japan (Saori) that frees the spirit and the heart. I am passionate about the issues that women are facing in the world today. Trying to raise awareness of those around me about human trafficking and sexual slavery. The education and empowerment of girls and women is tantamount to our living in a so called "free" world. We have a responsibility and an obligation to support our sisters wherever they may be. We are not free if they are not free.

My Passions:
Weaving and teaching Saori freestyle weaving. My Vision for the Future: My Areas of Expertise: le weaving. Photography. Travel. India. Japan. Italy.
My Challenges:
Surrendering to imperfection. The weaving that I do helps a lot with this issue! Also, I have a hard time accepting social injustices and inequality. I want the world to be a bountiful, creative place for ALL of its inhabitants.
My Vision for the Future:
I would love to travel and teach Saori weaving to women, and thereby they would have a tool with which to make and sell their wares. See above under "Challenges". My vision for the future is there!
My Areas of Expertise:
Have done counseling for all ages; worked in schools with children and their families to the care management with frail and dying elders. Also worked with people who had suffered human rights abuses in their countries, seeking asylum in the US.
My Languages:
English, some Spanish, a smattering of Italian, a small amount of Japanese, and a wee pinch of Bengali!
