I am a single mother of one son. i had my son upon entering the university. I was lucky to have an educated father who saw to it that I continued my education and am now a graduate of English(Hons). I also have a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies. I have battled with self esteem because of the way single mothers are regarded and treated in my community and finally I want to speak out against it and for others who have not had the opportunities I have had.
I have a passion to reach out to Teenage, young Mothers in my community who are regarded as wastes, outcasts and no good in my community. I want to see most of them educate, gainfully employed, out of prostitution (which most engage in for lack of choice) and with social self esteem. I am in the process of registering my Non government Organization called Hope Rising Foundation to be able to reach out to these girls.
