About Me:

Fire and explosion were going on. Being worry about the future that what will happen during the next day had made them to choose the only possible way leaving the sweet homeland and going toward a strange country with eyes that were always full of tears but also a hope for a better tomorrow. They leave Afghanistan and then I was born. Far from homeland and relatives in an unfamiliar place my parents named me Nargis (daffodils or narcissus) which is a flower that bloom in the autumn. For my family that war had take out the spring season from their life I was like a small bloom in the autumn of their life. They named me Nargis, a flower that grows in autumn, live in winter in the cold weather between snows, and always carry a hope that the spring is coming.

As I grow older and find myself in a huge world, I realized that really what is going on in my country. It is Afghanistan. A place that everything is unstable and you should be prepared that there is not any tomorrow. Then I understood that my family had a bigger expectation from me. They wanted me to be the same as my name for my country, a hope for a better tomorrow. A small bloom among all the difficulties and moments that people had forgotten how to smile. As I was a hope and a bloom in the autumn of my parents’ life, they wanted me to be a blossom for the people of my country and help them to believe that the season of tears and fighting will be over.

Yes, I am a girl from Afghanistan. The land that they call land of pain, war, disaster… but I call it land of beauty, love and hope.
