About Me:

After returning to the Bahamas from University in the U.S., I was determined to make a difference in the lives of young girls in my country. As I met pre-adolescent and adolescent girls, I saw the hurting looks on the faces. I heard their stories and witness their life turmoil's. Some are so hopeless and destitute. Some lack self love and direction. Additionally, there is a high rate of teen pregnancy in the Bahamas.

My life mission is to inspire and encourage girls and young women to recognize and believe in themselves. Resilience Girls Empowerment mentoring program promotes self-esteem and overall excellence! By addressing issues ranging from peer pressure to body image.

Resilience Girls Empowerment Program participants learn the importance of carrying themselves with grace and dignity. Emphasis is placed on the importance of self-respect and self-worth.

Each girl is encouraged to make a commitment to excel in academics, learning life skills, community service, book club, fine arts and social involvement in their communities and schools.R.G.E.P. is currently funded by volunteers, and led by female mentors, and women who believe that girls benefit from positive female support, and mentoring. This year we wish to officially launch the program and introduce Resilience Girls Book Circle Time, to encourage and promote literacy in our inner cities.

Please join us as We are determined to make a difference in the live of young girls throughout The Bahamas, Caribbean, Americas and the world.
