About Me:

I am a 27 year old woman from Portland, OR. I am currently in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil where I am working to finish a documentary about a group of young street dancers and their evolution as as community since 2005. I am also here to connect with my Brazilian sister Val and her family who became my second family when I lived here from 05' to 06' and again in 07'. Val is an incredible artist and when I come to Rio I am able to co-create ideas with her in relation to her launching her own business one day. I am so excited about the amazing bridges World Pulse and Pulse Wire builds between the global community of women. During the time I've spent living in Rio de Janeiro I've worked a lot within communities of women living inside the difficult favela system. They are artists, storytellers, dancers and members of a community that struggles daily with social exclusion and economic hardship.
I have a passion for telling stories. I am a dancer and choreographer and I am primarily fascinated by the rising power of Hip Hop as an art form and by the history and prevalence of global folkloric dance traditions.
I would love to connect with anyone who shares these interests or doesn't and simply wants to form an alliance. I can't wait to meet you!

My Passions:
Dance, Travel, Music, Documentary making, foreign languages
My Challenges:
Patience among other things
My Vision for the Future:
To create opportunities for international exchange relating to dance and educational opportunities that encourage cross cultural awareness.
My Areas of Expertise:
Dance- though I am always learning, Portuguese- would love to stay in practice, favela infrastructure of Rio de Janeiro.
My Languages:
English, Portuguese
