G.E. Cooper
I am a mother to three wonderful girls. I have been divorced and chose to live a life with less material benefits than most Americans to ensure I have the time to bond with my young. As my 2 older daughters are almost ready to begin drivers training, a majority of my time and energy is still invested with my youngest daughter, Naima. Her father is from North Sudan, and I am American. We sometimes refer to her a being Nous/Nous or 1/2 African ,1/2 American. She is a bridge between worlds!
I also call her my Amti Naima, which means "My Princess Naima" in Arabic. My three daughters are the reason I write, voice my opinion, and share my story. I want them to grow up empowered by their life situations, not left to play a victim's role no matter what the circumstance. I want them to understand that we are all connected inherently by our voices, stories, and hearts. I can only accomplish this by being myself, and sharing my story. I want them to know we all have a story to tell, and by doing so ,we literally change the world. We can all be a Princess of Change if we choose to be unwaivering in our faith, dedicated to humanity, and be of service to the planet for the betterment of all!
