Ana Dutra
Hello everyone. I'm Ana, from Brazil. I'm a writer/editor by training and volunteer for two small non profits in Brasilia which help poor communities to solve their urgent problems (mostly hunger and neglection). Around ten yeas ago, I left a promising job at an ad agency to become a volunteer at a non profit AIDS organization that provided legal and psychological support to AIDS patients/HIV positive.
I got completely convinced of my choices when I attended a presentation of Mrs. Ruth Cardoso (may God bless her soul). Mrs. Cardoso was Brazil's first lady at the time and led the work of the Alfabetização Solidária, a non profit organization whose main objective is to increase literacy in the country. Mrs. Cardoso became sort of an example for me and her strenght, good will and work became my benchmark.
I worked as an UN consultant for the Ministry of Health where I managed the a website team; and as the writer/editor. I'm an Alum of the Atlas Corps Fellowship Program.
I earned a M.A. in International Cooperation and a post-graduate diploma in Politics and Management of NGOs, and have completed extension courses in international affairs, diplomacy and communication for human rights managers. But I know there's lots yet to learn, and I trully believe we learn much more with our conterparts around the globe than with the books themselves. That's why I joined World Pulse. So, I thank you in advance for everything we are going to live and share here. Thank you all, dear colleagues.
