About Me: 

My name is Denise DeGarmo and I am an Associate Professor of International Relations at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in the state of Illinois, USA. I also am the coordinator of the Peace Studies Program at the University. I received my PhD at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Although I am trained in military security, I am interested in resource scarcity wars, human rights, the politics of occupation, and the status of women in the global community.
