My name is Dr. Karambu Ringera. I like to be called "Dr. K". I value education, entrepreneurship (enterprise) and self empowerment (the 3 Es) especially for women, youth and children. I work with International Peace Initiatives (www.ipeacei.org), a charitable organization that works around the world in general and specifically in Kenya to support work by grassroots women to mitigate effects of violence, poverty and disease among communities. I believe in approaches that measure peace, development and progress in terms of the 'quality of life' people live. Hence peace, wealth, and health for the communities I work with is the measure of the success of our work on the ground.

I believe in working in partnership with others - hence my motto: Inspiring Action for Peace. Everyone of us has what it takes to create peace for ourselves and others around us. My goal is to inspire others to reach down inside themselves to find the place where 'Peace' resides in all of us - and once found, to stretch out and share it with others. Together we create ripples of peace, for healing and transforming our world.
