My Everyday Magic: a practice in daily gratitude!
Everyday, depending on where our current vibration is on the emotional scale, we accumulate images, thoughts, and feelings and put them into a general statement such as "I'm not feeling good" or "I feel awesome!"
What is your default? What images, thoughts, and feelings do you find to be the majority of your being?
According to Jerry & Ester Hicks, we each have an emotional guidance scale that goes something like this (we all have different labels for emotions, so everyone's scale may read a little differently, but you'll get the general idea)...

The idea is that no matter where you are on the emotional guidance scale, you can take small steps toward where you want to be, by first honoring WHERE YOU ARE NOW, and recognizing your current vibration. I have used this scale many times in my life...and what I have noticed is that the more I take the time to honor wherever I am on the scale, even if I'm all the way down in the pits feeling depressed and powerless, that I DO have the power to feel better if that it is what I choose. Sometimes I choose to stay in despair for awhile, until I feel ready to make a different choice and move up the scale. Sometimes I can choose to make one small change, and allow myself to feel angry about the circumstances or whatever may be triggering my upset. Anger is not a negative emotion when we can look at it as just another step on the scale toward joy. Every emotion is a BLESSING because it tells us where we are on the scale, and gives us a guide to getting where we want to be.
Taking the idea of the emotional guidance scale, I have been practicing the art of allowing by ACCUMULATION. The more you look for something, the more you'll see it. The more attention put on a thing, idea, person, etc. the more qualities of that thing, etc. you will attract in to your life. Same goes for if you are actively resisting something. Your attention is on it, so you'll probably get more of it. The beauty of this? We can choose to put our attention toward what we WANT in life!
I'm only speaking for myself here, but I'm sure others would agree that gratitude and joy are wonderful feelings to experience, and I for one, am happy to embrace all joy and gratitude that may come my way in life! And by doing this, I attract more of it, and it is CONTAGIOUS. When I am feeling joy or appreciation about something, others around me tend to join in in some way, even if it is just by a smile.
So my SOLUTION is an idea that I am not the only creator of. Practicing daily gratitude, by finding the Everyday Magic in life, will attract more and more of the same. And you know what? The higher we are on the emotional scale, the more INSPIRATION we receive, and the more we can see the infinite opportunities and resources available to us!
A dear friend of mine named Kate Street, a fellow fairy friend, started a website called My Everyday Magic where people can come on a daily basis to post their "Magic" of the day. Your magic can be anything that makes you smile in your day, no matter how small or huge! I have a journal book at home that I write my everyday magic in, and then I come and share my favorites online at My Everyday Magic. It is addictive in a very awesome way.
