Dear All Members at the Aids Portal Website.Its a Great Request from Christian Youth Outreach-Uganda.
The reason I have sent you this invitation is I believe you have some interests, experiences and skills, which could be quite beneficial to our Charity Home.
In anticipation of this need, we formally reach you to respond with definite commitment to becoming our active partner with CHRISTIAN YOUTH OUTREACH-UGANDA by Becoming a volunteer for our organization, to assist with organization activities, which include
ï‚•Teaching children at the centre
ï‚•Health education (community outreach counseling and care)
ï‚•Care for infants in class
ï‚• Hygiene and HIV/AIDS education
ï‚• Carry out education campaigns in communities
ï‚• Assisting teachers
ï‚•Assisting local Medical clinics
ï‚•Help with Feeding
ï‚• Vocation training and life skills
ï‚•Administrative work
ï‚• Adult literacy
ï‚•Organizing play, arts and crafts, sport, art, games and academics.
ï‚•Children's rights campaigns (Preventing Violence against children)
ï‚• Fight AIDS, teach children, work with community development in
villages; build schools, wells and clinics
ï‚•Make home-visits assisting patients with medical and nutritional needs.
This work has many challenges as the needs of orphan and Youth are long term and need long term sustainability, however many people don't realize the orphan's crisis.
Over the past 2 years, the project has expanded from 15 children to 400 orphans and Youth. A commitment is needed to support each child by giving him or her strong educational foundation, a good time, self-esteem and values, and to help them plan how they can earn a steady livelihood as a step towards improving their standard of living.
The fact is that, in our circumstance, all tasks have become urgent. I therefore urge you to please see the areas where you can help. Even your thoughts alone on an issue could make a difference. No assistance is too small.
