International Women's Day
Action Blogging Campaign - Women Can Build the Bridges of Social Change
In the spirit of International Women's Day and building upon Women for Women International's Join Me on the Bridge Campaign, World Pulse offers PulseWire as a virtual, global bridge. In bringing grassroots women leaders together in one global community, we form a bridge with our voices that circles the world's oceans and connects women in the global south to women in the global north.
Join World Pulse on the Bridge
Join us on PulseWire to stand together in solidarity with our sisters worldwide to advance peace, demand gender equality and alleviate poverty. Use your journal as an instrument for change and explore the campaign's theme - Women Can Build the Bridges of Social Change. Tag your journal IWD 2010 and your words will join those of our global community to build a bridge of voices in solidarity for our sisters worldwide. Use the following topics as a jumping off point, to help you find your voice and get started - but don't limit yourself to these discussions!
- Say NO! to war and violence and YES! to peace and hope: How has war torn apart your life or your country? What are you doing to stop violence and promote peace in your community? How are women instrumental in healing communities and rebuilding war-torn regions?
- Equal rights and economic opportunities: Use your voice to call for justice and equality for women. How can we work together to end violence and discrimination against women and girls?
- Poverty alleviation: How are women in your community pushing the boundaries of conventional poverty alleviation?
Share your own On the Bridge Experience
Did you participate in a Women for Women International On the Bridge event? We invite you to share your experience with the PulseWire community. Tag your journal On the Bridge to add your story and help create a written account of this inaugural event.
