Solar for Empowerment

This group is intended to create a dialogue about opportunities and strategies to delivering solar powered devices and renewable energy products designed to meet the needs of rural and urban poor and others in the off-grid areas. I would like to explore possibilities for micro-financing and/or fundraising, distribution strategies and product requirements.

There is an ever increasing demand for solar power in developing countries. These markets can benefit from more cost efficient energy over time. It is also good for the environment because it replaces the traditional energy sources, such as propane and indoor fires, which have been found to have adverse health effects.

I look forward to taking the journey with you and learning from one another.
