DR Congo Cafe

Tens of thousands of women are being raped by soldiers, government-supported militia and rebel groups in the lawless eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a systematic terror tactic in the endless struggle over the region's rich minerals: cobalt, coltan, copper, bassiterite, diamonds, gold, tin, and uranium. The most violent cases of sexual assault lead to fistula- a break in the bladder wall. They come to Heal Africa's hospital for surgery in Goma.
Let's share resources and post current stories.
