Funding the Global Women's Movement
Talk about investing in women is the hot topic these days. But where's the money? Worldwide women's organizations are still small and underfunded. Financial resources rarely get to women on the ground who are implementing social change. The Association for Women and Development reports that the majority of women's organizations (about 2/3) often struggle to survive and have under $50,000 in annual budget. It's no wonder that we aren't making faster progress to bring about global gender equality.
How can we turn this around? What are the key strategic investments that funders can make to accelerate global women's empowerment and create a breakthrough ripple effect of change?
