Circles of Ten: Women for World Peace
Our vision: A world community where women, men, and children actively live in peace.
Our mission: To empower women to make possible a worldwide culture of peace. We gather in circles to talk about peace and the ways we will enact peace in our lives and the larger world.
Who are we?
A non-profit, membership organization led by women. We promote the empowerment of women as a path to peace. Our membership and our Peace Circles are open to peacemakers of all nationalities, genders, races and religions.
We believe that when the inner peace of any individual or group guides them into action, the resulting ripple effect has worldwide impact! As people make peace a priority in their lives, homes, and communities, the culture of peace comes into view. Our Peace Circle Starter Kit' is designed to make it easy for you and others to create an “outbreak of peace”.
What do you do in a Peace Circle?
We use our “Peace Process” in a small group conversation where we empower ourselves and each other to increase our awareness, vision, and action of peace for ourselves. We take turns completing the following four statements. 1. I feel peaceful when... 2. I don’t feel peaceful when... 3. Peace for me would be… 4. In the name of peace I will… We meet in cycles of six weeks to support each other over time with our individual peace commitments. All Peace Circles are led by women. Some are open to men and children.
