Need: Funding and Volunteers for DEVI House for Cambodian Women’s Organizations
We are working hard to create DEVI House, a safe place for women to weave together a vision for change in Cambodia. It is an umbrella organization for grassroots women organizations that work for social and economic justice. It houses three grassroots and dynamic women organizations, including:
1. Strey Khmer, which works with communities to provide basic health services for women who cannot afford healthcare.
2.Mea Kea Strey works with small groups of women weavers and market vendors as well as minority women to provide business skills and credit to women who depend on middlemen.
3. Grassroots Women for Change is founded by female politicians to build a movement of women in local and national politics.
Devi will be located in one of the communities along the river as we want it to be like the small resort near Kampot. We want to make the community appealing to guests, to volunteers, and tourists as we want to begin selling the products made by the women in the communities.
We are currently seeking funding, as well as volunteer support. If you are interested in learning more, in donating, in receiving our funding proposal, or in volunteering or interning, please download the attached PDF, or contact me here on PulseWire.
