IPPF/WHR seeks a bilingual Online Communications consultant with expertise in social media and website management to support its communications team. The Online Communications consultant is vital to the success of IPPF/WHR’s communications strategy and gaining greater online visibility for our work.

Position Overview
IPPF/WHR seeks a bilingual Online Communications consultant with expertise in social media and website management to support its communications team proximately15-20 hours per week. They will collaborate closely with the Digital Communications Officer to ensure IPPF/WHR’s online platforms and website are consistent and kept up to date–which requires some technical knowledge–and work with the Communications Associate to maintain our digital archive of media mentions. The Online Communications consultant is vital to the success of IPPF/WHR’s communications strategy and gaining greater online visibility for our work.

IPPF/WHR is a recognized leader in the international movement to ensure access to sexual and reproductive health care as a human right for all. In partnership with 41 Member Associations in the Americas and the Caribbean, we provide nearly 33 million services a year and work to secure government policies that improve people's lives.
IPPF/WHR pioneered the introduction of family planning services in Latin America and the Caribbean. We developed innovative and effective strategies for meeting the sexual and reproductive health needs of women, men, and young people in the region. IPPF/ WHR continues to respond to the tremendous need for contraceptive services, while also addressing a range of issues that have an impact on sexual and reproductive health, such as HIV/AIDS, gender-­‐based violence, and unsafe abortion. Scope of Work
The Online Communications consultant will work in the New York office with the communications team to:
Implement the social media strategy, in close collaboration with communications team.
insure social media and website content is consistent and up to date.
Regularly monitor and pos content to our social media platforms and blog.
Curate and create content for our social media platforms.
Track social media and website analytics.
Monitor news daily through tools like Google Alerts, Melt water, and RSS feeds and maintain a digital archive of our mentions.
Participate in team meetings and provide weekly progress reports.

Preferred Qualifications
The Online Communications Assistant is expected t have the following knowledge, experience, and skills:
Demonstrated enthusiasm for online communications and IPPF/WHR’s mission and values.
Experience implementing an online communications strategy.
Proficiency using digital communications tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Salsa, Hootsuite, Melt water, and Drupal.
Must have an understanding of HTML; preferably CSS also.
Comprehensive computer skills, including cloud-­‐based file sharing and using intermediate to advanced features of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Bachelor’s degree
2+years of experience in website management and using social media as a communications tool
Impeccable oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
knowledge of the international context for sexual and reproductive health services and rights, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Ability to quickly produce high quality work under deadline pressure.
Ability to manage and adeptly prioritize multiple assignments.
