Offer: Women's Rights Campaigning: Info-Activism Toolkit from Tactical Tech

The Women's Rights Campaigning: Info-Activism Toolkit is a new guide for women's rights activists, advocates, NGOs and community based organisations who want to use technology tools and practices in their campaigning. With the proliferation of digital tools and platforms available to activists, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start and which tools are best suited (or not) for different kinds of campaign and global contexts. This Toolkit assembles, strategies, digital tools and case studies from around the world with a critical focus on the intended strategic impact of digital campaigns.

It has been developed as part of CREA's New Voices / New Leaders: Women Building Peace and Reshaping Democracy project, supported by the FLOW Fund, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The aims of this project is to promote security by combating violence against women in the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and Sub-Saharian Africa and actively involving women in processes of peace, security and reconstruction and to enhance the participation of women in politics and public administration. In the coming months the website will be translated into Arabic; Swahili; Bengali; and Hindi so please stay tuned.

This Toolkit has been customised from an updated version of two earlier toolkits: Message in a Box and Mobiles in a Box and also features content from our 10 Tactics suite of materials for women's rights activists.

Who can benefit from this guide?
The Women's Right Campaigning Toolkit is for you if you are an activist, advocate, NGO or community worker anywhere in the world who:

is launching or thinking of launching a campaign online and/or offline using digital tools

is looking for inspiration or an idea of how others have used digital tools in innovative ways and with limited means to pass a strong message

wants to focus more on applying tools and strategies rather than on abstract theories; wants a guide that is practical without necessarily being technical.

Nice use of technology

I'm use to seeing toolkits in PDF format, so it's quite refreshing to see this one in a different format. Looking forward to going through the whole thing!

Food for thought: There are a lot of women out there who do not have access to a speedy internet connection. Although the toolkit looks like it doesn't really require fast internet, I can imagine there are women organizations out there that would appreciate a copy of this toolkit on a CD rom. It could be useful for those who are in the field, that have a laptop or computer, but no internet access.

Good Idea!

Rahel, that's a great observation and a good idea....I'd suggest you contact the organization that created the toolkit to share your thoughts with them!
